X is @CindyBiSV‘s name initial, @Ycombinator was her main deal flow when Cindy invested part time as Founding Partner at Z fund since 2011.
In the mean time, Cindy was also a full-time operator at a file API company , after her 80%-traveling consultant years at @Accenture when she also cofounded and ran a hunting-camera company on the side.

Two Jobs At the Same Time
Since Cindy’s PhD* years at Georgia Tech when she studied full time while doing research for the professors part time, she’s always held two jobs at the same time. This tweet below summed up her 20’s after Cindy immigrated to the U.S. with a full scholarship.
*Cindy dropped out after the 2nd year of the PhD program as she couldn’t wait longer to work in the industry doing GIS projects (in Atlanta) with many Oil&Gas clients (in Texas).
Her major (2 decades ago) was Transportation Engineering, although that’s not why she invested in both seed and Series A @Cruise, the self-driving (electric car) startup that’s acquired by GM in 2016, valued $19B in 2019.
Why NOW?
After investing part time in more than 150 startups and 7 Micro VC funds as an enterprise-focused generalist with a proven top track record, Cindy is finally gearing up to be fully dedicated to her VC chapter. She absolutely enjoys the journey to continue to hustle, discover, support and most importantly, cheer for the superman and wonder-woman founders and their early team members, all over the world.
Online First, Offline Optional?
Cindy recently tweeted about her 1st angel investment in 2020 (and she’s written 14 personal checks since July 2019) in an oversubscribed seed round that’s secured without meeting the founders IRL. It obviously struck a chord and had 31k+ impressions within 24 hours!
The investment was for a European startup that’s by the developers and for the developers, and, remote-only.
Her other well-known portfolio startup Zapier has been remote-only since 2012!
But don’t worry — you’ll see Cindy IRL too, and, she’s very real :)

Ultimately, Cindy aims to remain a trusted and approachable seed investor residing in Silicon Valley who’s also plugged-in online to be connected with the rest of the world, supporting founders across the globe with her well-recognized insider-outsider style of thinking and working in two worlds.
State of Equilibrium
Two jobs and two worlds — to survive and win on this long journey, may we all get inspired by the world-famous Perito Moreno Glacier in Argentinian Patagonia, one of the few unusual glaciers that maintains a state of equilibrium, as photoed at the beginning of this article (taken by Cindy on a family trip with her boyfriend at the end of 2018).
